     ICCIC members attend farewell ceremony for Comrade Huang Hua

Former Vice Premier, State Councilor, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National Peoples Congress, Executive Member of the Central Advisory Committee of the Communist Party of China, Honorary Chairman of the International Committee for the promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives, comrade Huang Hua died on 24th November, 2010, in Beijing at the age of 98.

Comrade Huang Hua was an enthusiastic supporter of the Gung Ho movement during the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and a close friend and comrade of many international friends and founders of Gung Ho, such as Helen and Edgar Snow, Rewi Alley, and others. After its revival in the 1980s, Huang Hua gave ICCIC  generous support, guidance and encouragement, which we shall never forget and for which we are truly grateful. All supporters of the Gung Ho movement, Chinese and foreign, feel deep sorrow at the loss of this beloved honorary Chairman who was so respected and admired by all! He shall forever live in our hearts!

On 1 December 2010, ICCIC Chairman Michael Crook, Advisors Isabel Crook and Pat Adler, as well as committee member Carl Crook, and members of the secretariat Yu Xiaohong and Ren Guangji attended the farewell ceremony for comrade Huang Hua held in the Great Hall at Babaoshan Cemetery for Revolutionary Martyrs. They conveyed sincere condolences to his widow He Liliang and members of his family.
