Many foreign friends fought alongside the Chinese patriotsduring their war of resistance against Japanese aggression and war of liberation,as well as socialist construction, making selfless sacrifices and great contributions.

To commemorate them and promote their internationalist spirit, the International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives and Beijing Yangtai ("Sunny Terrace") Mountain Resort worked together to create the International Friendship Green in April 2024.

Yangtai Mountain Resort is located about 30 km North West of Beijing city, in Haidian District, Beijing. It lies at the base of the ancient pilgrim’s path to Miaofeng Mountain – “Magic Peak”. For hundreds of years, Miaofeng Mountain was the most popular destination in the region for pilgrimage to the “Niangniang Miao” – Temple to the God Mother. Yangtai Resort opened to the public in 1997 and was awarded a rating of National AAA Scenic Spot. The Yangtai Mountain range here stretches from north to south more than ten kilometers, with many valleys running west to east. There are many kinds of plants and abundant vegetation in the scenic area and the vegetation coverage rate is as high as 90%. The scenery of mountains, rocks, and spring water are unique and charming. It also has fresh air, beautiful scenery, and wide views. It is named for its towering main peak and wide range of mountaintops, as well as the earliest sunrise viewing in the suburbs of Beijing.
