Dear friends,

Since the pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus broke out in Wuhan, Hubei Province, the province itself and many areas of China have been affected. Under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and acting with a high sense of responsibility to people's health, the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the government have taken the most comprehensive and rigorous prevention and control measures, and all sectors of society are fighting against the outbreak in a scientific, orderly and appropriate manner.

The CPC and Government is making all efforts to provide effective  treatment to reduce severe and fatal cases. Some patients have been cured and released from hospital. A national expert group on scientific research has been set up to speed up the development of vaccines. The procedures for approval and clinical use of drugs proven to be effective against the virus has been accelerated. The State Council of China has established a unified national dispatch system for epidemic prevention and control materials to coordinate the dispatch of medical personnel, medical supplies and daily necessities in a timely manner.

While fighting the epidemic, the Chinese government has cooperated with international partners with openness, transparency and high sense of responsibility. Information about the epidemic and the genetic sequence of coronavirus was shared with WHO, relevant nations and regions in a timely manner. WHO and many countries fully affirmed and spoke highly of China’s efforts. Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that China has identified the pathogen in record time, released information in an open and transparent manner, taken timely and effective measures in dealing with the epidemic, and significantly slowed down the spread of the epidemic to other countries.

In a globalized world, the destinies of all countries are closely linked. The International Committee for the promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives (ICCIC) has received many letters of sympathy and support from individual foreign friends as well as friendly organizations. We sincerely appreciate such letters of sympathy, and are specially grateful for the generous spiritual and material support we have received. We have every confidence that with the resolute leadership of the CPC, the enormous strength of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the strong support from the international community, the Chinese people, with one heart and mind, will definitely win the battle of prevention and control of the contagion caused by the virus.
