The reception to commemorate the 45th Anniversary of China-New Zealand Diplomatic Relations and the 120th Birth Anniversary of Rewi Alley was held in Christchurch on 1st December. More than 200 guests attended the function, including Members of Parliament Poto Williams and Duncan Webb, North Asia Division Manager Amb. Deborah Geels of MFAT and Special Advisor and Director Christchurch for MFAT Amb. Phillip Gibson, Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel and several other South Island Mayors, local dignitaries, Rewi Alley family members, and friends from various circles, representatives of Chinese community, Chinese enterprises and overseas students in the consular districts as well as delegations from Chinese Peoples' Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives, Gansu and Hubei province.
